Could you pass the Claude Certified Developer - Foundations (CCD-F) exam?
This is a CCD-F practice exam - 4 sample questions (~3 minutes), drawn from the CCD-F question bank across its four highest-weighted domains: Applications & Integration, Model Selection & Optimization, Agents & Workflows, and Prompt & Context Engineering. Two foundational questions, one applied, and one edge case. Want a longer practice test? Take the 10-question diagnostic or the full 53-question mock exam. You'll get a personalised study plan based on what you miss.
We post a fresh 4-question sample each week - the same set all week (it stays put on reload), with new questions next week so you can track your progress.
53 questions, 120 minutes, 720 of 1000 to pass.
8 weighted domains. The quick check above samples from the four highest-weighted.
What this CCD-F quick check tells you
Four questions can introduce the question style and reveal topics to revisit. They do not measure readiness across all 8 domains. Use the 10-question diagnostic for a broader starting assessment, then the full 53-question mock for timed practice.
Work through a CCD-F integration question
A support team wants Claude to draft a reply while an agent waits on screen. The same team also wants 40,000 archived tickets tagged overnight. Which request mode fits each job?
This is an original teaching scenario written for this page. It is not an official exam question.
- Find who is waiting. The agent on screen is waiting now. Nobody is waiting on the overnight archive. That one fact separates the two jobs.
- Match the mode. Live replies use a real-time Messages request, with streaming so text appears as it is generated. The archive job suits the Message Batches API, which processes requests asynchronously at a 50% cost reduction, with most batches finishing in under an hour.
- Check the constraint. A batch is polled for status, and results are retrieved once processing has ended for all requests. It cannot back a screen someone is watching.
- Decide. Two request paths that share one prompt and one output format: real-time with streaming for the live reply, batch for the archive.
Failure modes to watch for
- Sending the live reply through a batch: the agent waits for a polling cycle instead of a response.
- Running the archive as real-time requests: you pay the standard rate for work nobody was waiting on.
- Treating streaming as a way to make bulk work interactive: streaming changes when text appears, not whether a job is a batch job.

Review your CCD-F practice results
Sort every miss into one of three buckets, then study the bucket rather than the single question. Integration questions sit in Applications & Integration (33.1% of the CCD-F), model-selection questions in Model Selection & Optimization (16.8%), and workflow questions in Agents & Workflows (14.7%).
| Bucket | Sign you made this miss | Study next |
|---|---|---|
| Integration | You picked the wrong API mechanism, or misread what a response field or stream event tells you. | Application design across interfaces, streaming, prompt caching |
| Model selection | You chose a model tier by habit (always the largest, or always the cheapest) instead of by the task's quality, latency and cost. | Model selection trade-offs, prompt caching |
| Workflow | You chose an agent where a fixed workflow would do, or the reverse. | Agent construction with the Claude Agent SDK, agent frameworks and design patterns |
Read the explanation for every miss, name its bucket, then rework only that bucket before you retry the quick check.

Questions about this quick check
Does this sample cover every CCD-F domain?
No. This quick check samples the four highest-weighted domains. The full blueprint has 8 domains.
How do I move from the sample to a full CCD-F mock?
Review the explanations, study the topics you missed, then choose a paid mock plan for CCD-F. Its full mock has 53 questions.
Does CAC provide CCD-F exam dumps?
No. CAC provides practice questions and explanations for preparation, not copied official exam questions.
How do I choose between real-time and batch processing in a CCD-F question?
Ask who is waiting. If a person or a live screen waits for the result, use a real-time request, with streaming when text should appear as it is generated. If nobody is waiting and cost matters, the Message Batches API processes requests asynchronously at a 50% cost reduction, and results are retrieved after processing ends.
How should I review my CCD-F practice results?
Put each miss in one bucket: integration, model selection or workflow. Study that bucket's concept pages, then retry the quick check. Integration questions sit in the largest CCD-F domain, Applications & Integration.
